Cherry Blossoms

1 min read

Cherry blossoms, known in Japan as sakura, belong to the prunus genus and bloom for only about one to two weeks, which is a big part of what makes them so captivating. Their brief appearance has made them a symbol of renewal, beauty, and the fleeting nature of life. Although they're most commonly associated with Japan, cherry blossoms actually originated in the Himalayan region of China, and today there are over 100 varieties in colors ranging from white to deep pink. This photo captures a Yoshino cherry blossom in Washington, D.C., during peak bloom season. Contact us for more information.
